Sunday Worship Opportunities
Every Sunday, the 10:30 am service is the main service for worship and fellowship. A combination of traditional hymns and contemporary worship music are played. Holy Communion is celebrated weekly.
The 5:00 pm service will have a more contemplative style. Service styles include Holden Evening Prayer, Lectio Devina and Taizé.
Holden Evening Prayer Service
Through the Holden Evening Prayer service, we seek to support, strengthen and reaffirm our values as people who have received the grace of Christ and therefore been called to “act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God.” (Micah 6:8)
Lectio Divina is Latin for “divine reading” and is a practice of scriptural reading, meditation, and prayer intended to engage the biblical text as the living Word of God. Come to invite God’s grace to open our hearts and contemplate the personal meaning of the passages of the day.
The Taizé prayer service was developed at an ecumenical monastery in Taizé, France. We will adapt the service using the meditative singing with Taizé music, Bible readings, silence and candle light. In the Taizé style, we will repeatedly sing short verses to help us meditate and listen to God.
